Approved Expandable Homes was founded out of necessity—when we were in the market for an expandable home, getting council approval wasn’t optional for us; it was a non-negotiable requirement before making a purchase.

Over a year ago, we began our search and placed an order for a 40-foot custom home through Expandihome. However, we quickly discovered that no one in the market was offering expandable homes with council approval as part of the process. Despite growing demand, there was no clear path to compliance—and no provider offering a solution.

 

So we set out to solve the problem ourselves.

Over the following year, we worked through engineering approvals, council regulations, and certifier requirements. We also had to adjust and upgrade the original specifications of the expandable home to meet strict Australian standards. To ensure full compliance, we engaged Australian-certified engineers, flying them to the factory to inspect, audit, and certify the build process and materials.

It was an expensive, time-consuming, and complex undertaking—but now that we’ve done it, we’re making it easy for others.
